Do you love money? Do you live for the gentle caress of luxury that only enormous wealth can afford? If you’ve already bought the yacht, you can’t fit another car in your 20-acre garage and your property portfolio is starting to resemble a Monopoly board with only one player, then we may have just the suggestion for you. Money. Not the paper stuff – the fragrance.
Created by aspiring fragrance entrepreneur (and Microsoft employee) Patrick McCarthy, Money is a new perfume for men and women that aims to capture the essence of wealth. It even comes packaged in shredded dollar bills. The men’s fragrance is described on the official website as 'A bold fusion of fresh ocean breezes and bright citrus notes are joined by rosemary, grass, and precious woods'. For women, financial clout apparently smells like: 'Vibrant pink grapefruit and mandarin… joined by freesia, passion fruit, Hawaiian wedding flower, and a soft hint of melon.'
You’d be forgiven for assuming that all this comes with a hefty price tag, but in fact the whiff of wealth costs only $35. It is available from the Money website, and will shortly be available in US stores. There is no mention of UK retailers but really if you can’t afford a private jet to whisk you over to LA for a couple of hours, are you sure this is the scent for you?
