Olsen twins to launch two new perfumes for Elizabeth and James
The Olsen twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley, that many remember from the 90’s sitcom Full House and a very long string of TV movies, are also successful fashion designers having founded labels like The Row, Elizabeth and James, Olsenboye and StyleMint, under their manufacturing company, Dualstar Entertainment Group.
In 2012, The Council of Fashion Designers of America even named them Womenswear Designers of The Year, so it isn’t unusual that they would spread their wings into the fragrance world, again.
Having already launched LA Style and NY Chic perfumes in 2006 , they will now be releasing two new more ‘grownup’ scents for their brand Elizabeth and James(which is named after their parents), and the scents are called Nirvana White and Nirvana Black.
'Nirvana White' is a floral musk, with notes of peony, muguet, while 'Nirvana Black' is woody with violet, sandalwood and vanilla notes, and the fragrances are packaged in matching black and white bottles that were designed by the twins and inspired by vintage gold mirrors.
The perfumes will each be available in three sizes: 50 ml. for $75, 30 ml. for $55, and a rollerball for $22.
The two fragrances that will be launched in the US and Canada this January 2014 and exclusively through Sephora (even if there will be a limited release just before Christmas).
The perfumes have taken two years in the making, because the famous sisters were unable to decide on which notes to use so they decided to create two different fragrances instead.
"We always knew we wanted to have a fragrance for this brand, because it's very lifestyle," Ashley told WWD. "We felt that between the brand Elizabeth and James and Sephora that we were really speaking together directly to our customer. We felt that was a really good place to start exploring the world of fragrance and beauty."
The Olsen twins could be launching another fragrance for their fashion couture brand The Row, which opens its first retail store in LA next Spring.
