In this rat race we live, it is very difficult to go everyday to the gym or make that 2k run during the weekend when all you’d rather do is crawl into bed and sleep off the tiredness. Sure, you need your beauty sleep, too but you can prevent that waistline from thickening if you make it a point to stick to a realistic exercise plan even if it is only 15 minutes a day.

  • Clean makeup drawers regularly

You might have the tendency to accumulate makeup without ever noticing that even cosmetics have an expiry date. Hence, make a habit of cleaning drawers and get rid of old makeup. Resist the temptation to buy lots of makeup to avoid throwing them away. It's also good for your wallet.

  • Renew sponges and brushes

Brushes and sponges accumulate dirt and bacteria which can ruin your skin. You might even get breakouts or allergies. Make sure you change your sponges and brushes regularly.

  • Cleanse face each night

No matter how tired you are, make it a habit to completely clean the face of makeup. Such a practice promotes healthy looking skin and you will avoid clogged skin and pores.

Oral health is also part of beauty care. Don’t forget to take care of teeth in addition to routine care such as flossing and using oral rinse. Make that trip to the dentist every 6 months and be aware of any gum diseases as part of your New Year beauty resolutions. Keep yourself hydrated and try to eat a balanced diet. If you are a smoker, now is the time to seriously think of ditching the habit. Smoking causes dry eyes, premature skin aging and bad breath. Shave years off your face, breathe better, and live longer.
