Lily Collins is the new ambassadress for Lancôme
British actress, model, and television personality Lily Collins, known for her roles in the movies: The Blind Side (2009), Priest (2009), Abduction (2011), Mirror Mirror (2012) and The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones, has been chosen as the new ambassadress for Lancôme.
The 24-year old daughter of singer Phil Collins and second wife, Jill Tavelman will be the new ambassadress for the French beauty and cosmetic house and will be joining other stars on the Lancome roster, which includes Daria Werbowy, Julia Roberts, Kate Winslet and Emma Watson who did the Spring/summer 2013 In Love collection.
Lily’s first ad campaign and promotion for the beauty brand will be for the Spring/Summer 2014 fourteen color make-up collection, French Ballerine, which is quite a coincidence given that the British actress’ grandmother was actually a ballerina.
"With her charm, gracefulness, modernity and lively wit, Lily Collins is the perfect embodiment of femininity according to Lancôme. We are delighted to begin this collaboration with Lily, who brings a renewed sense of radiance and youthfulness to Lancôme” said Françoise Lehmann, General Manager of Lancôme International.
Collins said on her new appointment, "It's an absolute honour and privilege to have been chosen to represent the Maison Lancôme. I have always admired the brand's unique and distinctive appreciation for inner beauty and grace, elegance and utter radiance. I feel incredibly lucky to be included among the most inspirational women ambassadresses for one of the most prestigious brands in the world. It's truly a dream come true".
Barwerd van der Plas will be photographing Collins in the 2014 Lancome ad campaign, and in the first teaser pic in black and white that has been released, shows the British actress posed in a chiffon and tulle dress with her hair pulled up, nd once again she shows a ‘striking resemblance’ to Hollywood icon Audrey Hepburn.
