Libélula lies

For one fleeting moment this week it looked like there could be light at the end of the tunnel in the quest to discover who would design the royal wedding gown. A few days ago Huffingtonpost.com took it upon itself to exclusively reveal that the designer picked to make Kate Middleton's dress was little-known Sophie Cranston. As Cranston's label, Libélula, made no comment to either deny or confirm the rumours, pretty much everyone took the gossip as pure fact and within hours people were discussing Cranston's credentials whilst pretending they had heard of Libélula.

But, alas, today a press release has been issued by Cranston's label saying:

'Libélula has a company policy of not commenting on any of the work they do for private clients, however due to the unprecedented media attention they would like to make the following statement: 'For the purpose of clarification we are not designing Kate Middleton's wedding dress. We, like everyone else, can't wait to find out who is!'

Obviously this is quite irritating as we had just gone to the trouble of searching out every Libélula garment on eBay in the hope that they prices would skyrocket after April 29th. Anyone want a floral dress with matching cardigan?
