Lady Gaga launches new perfume on Twitter

Lady Gaga launches new perfume on Twitter! Okay, we were not supposed to know anything about Gaga’s new perfume until its official launch in August, 2012; and the official launch was supposedly not intended to happen on twitter, but you guessed it, information on Gaga’s new fragrance leaked online. Lisa Tant, a Canadian fashion magazine editor, leaked a picture of Gaga’s bottled perfume on the social media site well ahead of its official launch date in August.

The scope

Tant did more than just post the image of Gaga’s new perfume in a bottle; she also included its name and scent notes. You might want to keep in mind that both the name and fragrance of Gaga’s debut perfume have been a closely guarded secret for over two years now.

Tant, allegedly quoting Lady Gaga at a press preview for her perfume, tweeted:

“It was taken out of my own blood sample, so it's a sense of having me on your skin.”

“I wanted to extract sort of the feeling and sense of blood and semen from molecular structures.”

“That is in the perfume, but it doesn't smell like that. Actually, the perfume smells like an expensive hooker.”

Lady Gaga’s response

Almost immediately after Tant’s leaked information when live online, Lady Gaga responded with her own tweets:

“Looks like photos of my perfume are being leaked. Oh, you fashion editors I could crinkle my hands at you!”

Perhaps to avert any further damage, Lady Gaga decided to launch her new perfume herself on twitter. She let her followers in on information previously withheld about her new perfume, including its name, image and scent notes.

“And here it is!” Gaga twitted, “The first official photograph of my perfume. It's called FAME. The First ever Black Eau De Parfum.”

FAME – black Eau de Parfum

Contrary to rumours that Gaga’s debut fragrance would smell of “blood and semen”, official reports say Fame embodies “Tears of belladonna, crushed heart of tiger orchid, with a black veil of incense, pulverized apricot and the combinative essences of saffron and honey drops.”

Okay, now that’s a fragrance that all fashionista's will be absolutely dying to get a sniff!
