Ideas for homemade face masks
Why pay for expensive store bought face masks when you can use natural ingredients to make your own?
Here are a few easy, simple and inexpensive receipes that you can try immediately.
Healthy and glowing skin isn’t just a privilege for young women. With constant and targeted care we can maintain the freshness of our skin by moisturizing and nourishing also with a proper diet full of fruit and vegetables and drinking lots of water.
Once a once a week we can pamper our skin with a 'low cost' face mask that we can safely make at home, with natural ingredients - and no harsh chemicals or additives - and with items found in our pantry, just like our very wise grandmothers used to.
Banana mask for normal or mixed skin
Ingredients:
- - a banana
- - Rose water - you can also make your own if you're inclined
Peel the banana and mash it with a fork. Apply it to you face and leave it on for half an hour, then gently remove the mask using rose water
Sour milk mask for oily and/or impure skin
Ingredients:
- - whole milk
- - lemon juice from half a lemon - filtered
In a small bowl pour a little milk and add the lemon juice, in a few minutes due to the acid in the lemon juice the milk will curdle and become a sort of cream that you can apply on your face. Leave it on for twenty minutes and then rinse with fresh water.
Honey and egg yoke hydrating and nutrient mask
Ingredients:
- - an egg yolk
- - a spoon of liquid honey
In a small bowl mix the egg yolk with the honey to obtain an emulsion that you’ll apply to your face and neck with a delicate massage. Leave the mask on for twenty minutes and rinse off with warm water.
Nut mask for dry skin
Ingredients:
- - 12 peeled Brazil nuts
- - 2 teaspoons of milk
- - juice from half an orange
- - rose water
Finely grind the nuts - you can also use your mixer - add the milk and the juice obtained from the orange that you previously filtered and mix until you obtain a soft mixture that you’ll apply to your face with a sterile gauze pad. Leave on for half an hour and remove with the rose water.
