Halston axe Sarah Jessica Parker
The Fashion industry is clearly a dangerous and precarious place to make a living. US fashion line Halston made a huge splash when it signed up Sarah Jessica Parker as president, Tamara Mellon as board member as well as movie mogul Harvey Weinstein and designer Marius Schwab. Now after a mass culling by the new owners, Hilco Consumer Capital, who have plans to put Ben Malka, president of BCBG Max Azria Group in charge, none of the big names are left.
According to a rather melodramatic account from Vogue, there's been a mass cull at the brand,'In one of the fastest and most devastating fashion implosions of recent times, it now appears that British businesswoman and Jimmy Choo founder Tamara Mellon is also no longer associated with Halston. Since last Wednesday, investor Harvey Weinstein, who Mellon brought to the brand, and Sarah Jessica Parker, who was president as well as chief creative officer, have both departed their roles - with Marios Schwab, as well as the mainline collection he designed, close behind.'
The iconic fahion line is apparently going to focus more on the Halston Heritage brand in the future.
